For the first time I travelled to Tanzania for a week only and for the first I spent a week in one camp (more about the camp soon) and one park only - in Ruaha.  It is the largest Nationalpark in Tanzania and part of the Ruaha - Rungwa Ecosystem which is one of the last remaining true wilderness areas in Africa. In recent years I visited Ruaha more often than any other park. There are less than a dozen camps inside the park and the biodiversity is among the highest in East Africa. Ruaha is known for its lion and elephant population - and for its baobab trees. 10 % of all free roaming lions live here plus a stable population of leopards, cheetahs and wild dogs. As I haven´t seen cheetahs (except for a brief moment) and wild dogs yet in Ruaha, I certainly need to come back again............
